The Prep League
Principal, Independent and Boarding School Alumni Network
January 2011- Present
In 2011 my brother (St. Paul’s 1998) and I (Brewster Academy 2001) created Aubry Consulting as a service for Independent Boarding Schools to support and engage their alumni. A core focus of our work is engaging with alumni of color to connect with each other and back to their alma mater. In addition, we work with schools on techniques on how to engage their whole alumni population in a variety of ways from volunteerism to traditions and financial giving. Through this process we have also thought partnered with schools on issues ranging from engagement, board creation and technology.
We are hosting our third annual Multicultural alumni event in July of 2013 and are expecting over 12 schools and 100+ participants. By request, we are working to create a space for staff in alumni affairs to share resources, learn about technology and discuss engagement techniques. We are currently in early conversations with 3 boarding schools about building an internship program for their current alumni and high-school students. We plan to launch this program in the Fall of 2013. The internship will work with alumni related companies to hire summer interns. This program will provide internships for current boarding school alumni at the college and graduate level. Our hope through these various efforts is to codify the first national independent school alumni network as well as bring together alumni of color who have shared the same educational experience.
