City Year Philadelphia
Board Chair, CITY YEAR GREATER PHILADELPHIA, Alumni Association/ National Alumni Board
October 2006- February 2009
As a Corps member in 2001 I maintained my engagement with City Year throughout my college years through participating in Service Days and supporting their LACY (Life After City Year) Professional Development program. Due to my prior engagement I was invited to chair their board after a one year run with a struggling board and two years on inactivity. I happily accepted the challenge and build a board of 6 professionals who were committed to City Year and participated and helped manage all of the annual alumni events that were required by the National Alumni office. We were the first City Year site to complete all of the annual alumni events in our first fully functioning year. We were able to expand our programming past the standard events and began to innovate programming ideas based on the needs of our alumni.
