Brewster Academy
Board Co- Chair, Brewster Academy, Alumni Group of Color
February 2010- Present
I have worked with Brewster over the last 5 years to engage the young alumni community. I launched the first young alumni event in Brewster's history in 2010 which spearheaded their young alumni initiative with 2-3 events per year. In addition, I collaborated with them to test the direct withdrawal donation platform where I gave monthly donations to annual fund. I was spotlighted in their bi-annual publication, Brewster Connections and then became the Class giving chair for our 10th reunion with a 40% attendance rate for a graduating class of approximately 90 alumni. I supported the reunion programming by introducing an alumni arts fair at reunion in 2012. This is the first reunion where we have showcased alumni work. In 2010, I also launched and co-chaired the Brewster Academy Black Alumni Association. We currently have over 40 members on Facebook and send letters to students to connect them with alumni and to urge them to participate in the alumni association upon graduating.
